Events organized in college
 
A.      National Festivals
BRD Medical College takes pride in celebrating Republic Day (26th January), Independence Day (15th August), and Birthday of ‘Father of our Nation’ and LalBahadurShashtriji (2nd October) every year with grandeur. Flag hoisting is done at the Administrative Block of college on both Republic Day and Independence Day, followed by flag hoisting at each of the hostels by wardens and Nehru Hospital by Chief Medical Superintendent. Organization of 2nd October celebrations is done at the Administrative Block. All these events are to be compulsorily attended by all the faculty members, college & hospital staff, resident doctors and MBBS students.
 
B.       Convocation
Convocation for grant of degrees to undergraduate and postgraduate students from BRD Medical College, Gorakhpur is held during the month of November. BRD Medical College, Gorakhpur hosts a number of medals and awards that are given to meritorious students in various disciplines during the convocation.

Apart from these awards/ medals, “Best post-graduate award for 1st year, 2nd year and 3rd year” and other “Honours with Distinction” (for securing 75% or higher marks in a subject in University Examination) awards and “Certificate of Honour” (for securing 70% or higher marks in a subject in University Examination) are also given.
C.      Annual Sports Event
Annual sports event is organized in the month of February by the Chairman, Sports Committee with the Sports Captain. This event consists of a number of indoor and outdoor games, sports and informal events, like athletic events, badminton, table tennis, chess, carom, weight lifting, tug of war, discus throw, shot-put, cricket, etc. Participation in these activities by undergraduate students, postgraduate students and faculty members creates a lively atmosphere in the campus, which is a welcome break from the hectic schedule of the medical curriculum. This 3-day event terminates with a grand prize distribution ceremony and cultural night on the last day.
 
D.      Fresher’s Party
Fresher’s party is organized as a welcome party for the new MBBS students. The party is hosted by the 2nd year MBBS students, but the whole college actively participates in organization of this event. It is generally organized a few months after fresh admissions for MBBS are completed. The senior students hand over specially designed titles to all the new MBBS students and welcome them to BRD family. The event hosts cultural performances by both the new MBBS students and the senior students. Based upon a variety of criteria (academic, cultural, sports, discipline), the senior students, in consultation with the faculty, choose Mr. Fresher and Miss Fresher, who are felicitated during the event.
 
E.       Farewell Party
Farewell party is hosted by the MBBS students for their seniors appearing in the Final Professional Examination. It is generally organized after the Fresher’s party. The final year students seek the blessings of the senior faculty members, and good wishes for their final examination and bright future from the whole BRD family. Getting Farewell is both a moment of joy and sorrow for the senior students. It is celebrated by cultural performances by both senior and junior students.
